Red Hill, West Heath
B38 - Grid reference SP045766
Red Hill/ Redhill is a topographical name based on the colour of the red clay soil. In the Birmingham area there must have been many red fields, but this name in the countryside south of the Hawkesley estate probably denotes the track up the red hill, Redhill Road. There were a number of claypits in the area.
