Spring Vale, Bordesley

B9 - Grid reference SP086859

There was a spring alongside the Coventry Road north-west of Bordesley Circus in the Dart Street area. A tale is told that during the 1860s an old man drinking from the spring fell in head first and drowned, which led to the spring being covered.

The photograph shows roughly the location of Spring Vale. The main road is the Coventry Road; the maisonettes were built in 1937 on Kingston Hill.
